Develop a Greenhouse Gas Emissions Offsets Policy to guide the application and administration of carbon offsets in the Territory

Greenhouse gas emissions offsets are actions undertaken to reduce or absorb greenhouse gas emissions in a location/locations (e.g. via sequestering carbon in replanted forests) in order to compensate for an increase in greenhouse gas emissions produced elsewhere. A Greenhouse Gas Emissions Offsets Policy is required to assist the Northern Territory in achieving the target of net zero emissions by 2050.
