The Northern Territory has embraced an aspirational target of net-zero emissions by 2050 and hydrogen can play a critical role in achieving this target. As the international community seeks innovative ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, there is a growing demand for clean, reliable and flexible energy solutions, like hydrogen. There is an opportunity for the Northern Territory to position itself at the forefront of this developing industry. The Strategy will articulate the potential hydrogen opportunities, the Northern Territory’s competitive advantages and how the Territory can leverage these to be a centre of hydrogen technology research production and use in Australia.
