A Resilient Territory

Identify and prioritise Territory Government infrastructure, assets and services at risk from impacts associated with climate change

25

The Northern Territory Government needs to be prepared to adapt and respond to the impacts of climate change to guarantee continual service delivery to the community; limit fiscal risks arising from damaged or stranded assets; and ensure the functioning of critical and essential infrastructure is not compromised.

A Climate Risk Assessment Framework will guide agency understanding and assessment of potential climate risks on their day to day operations and service delivery, critical infrastructure and assets. It will assist agencies to prioritise the planning and implementation of appropriate adaptation responses to reduce the level of risk exposure to government operations arising from climate change impacts.
